Sealcoating is the best way to protect your asphalt pavement investment. Asphalt pavement is made up of aggregate (rock/stone/gravel) and a binder that holds the aggregate together. Overtime weatherization will degrade the binder creating potholes and broken pavement areas. Sealcoating will protect your pavement from weatherization by adding another layer of protection. Not only does it protect your investment but it beautifies it as well and makes any old pavement look brand new!.
There are multiple different ways to apply sealer: brush, squeegee, and spray. Our preferred method is to use a combination of the squeegee and spray. We always recommend applying at least 2 coats. For large parking lots/roads we will use our riding squeegee machines. This allows us to apply sealer effectively and efficiently. The second coat we always recommend spray since this will give you a clean finish that looks great.
Asphalt pavement cracks are the first sign of the aging process. Repairing cracks is essential to protecting your investment. Before applying sealer we recommend using hot pour crack filling. This process involves heating up blocks of rubberized asphalt and uses this material to fill cracks in the asphalt pavement.
